You can be the difference in A Kitten's life!
In 1998 I gave a baby up for adoption. For years I craved to care for a life beyond myself. On 10/16/2018, I brought a handsome 5 month old flame point Siamese home. I named him Finley. He was my first "baby cat". He loved me, and only me. I worked at a Veterinary office and on July 29, 2019 a man walked into the office with the smallest kitten I had ever seen in my life. She was 2 weeks old. The man found her while mowing and the mother didn't return. I decided I wanted to take her home and bottle feed her for the night. This day changed my life. It gave me so many things I had craved for 20+ years. It gave me something beyond myself to care for, something to feed during the night, and something to advocate for. I fell in love. I had no idea there was a need to care for orphaned kittens. I had no idea how much healing this could bring me. I also, had no idea what I was doing. With no equipment and my severe lack of knowledge, this baby survived. Her name is Nugget (aka Tilley, from her adoptive mom). She changed my life. Since then I have learned and developed skills to help other kittens. This has become my passion now.
Finely passed away on Jan 27th, 2020 of FIP. A terribly sudden and devastating loss. He will forever be my love.
Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a disease caused by a viral infection from a corona virus that is specific to cats. This type of corona virus cannot infect people or other species. FIP can be very difficult to diagnose because it can infect many organ systems, ranging from the abdomen to the eyes to the central nervous system. FIP symptoms also resemble symptoms from several other conditions, and the exact nature of your cat’s symptoms will depend on what form of the disease your cat has and which organs are affected. There is no vaccine or test for this virus.
With support I have learned many skills to help orphaned kittens. I fiercely love each kitten that comes into my home. I do the best I can for them. I hope to continue this work for a very long time.
Every penny goes directly to the care of these babies and any supplies needed for them to thrive. We are very grateful for your generosity.
Nugget at 2 weeks old.
Thankfully a long time friend adopted Nugget aka Tilley. I still receive updates and pictures.
Armina is a great help with the kittens. She is a wonderful and attentive Nanny. She also teaches kittens to be around dogs (for their future home).
Indoor cats live longer, happier, healthier lives than their outdoor counterparts. Indoor cats live significantly longer than outdoor cats, whose lives are often cut tragically short by disease, injuries, and many other dangers that they may face outside.
